Art Nouveau: The Art of the Century
Art Nouveau was an international art movement that flourished in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was characterized by its sinuous lines, organic forms, and vibrant colors. Art Nouveau was applied to a wide range of media, including architecture, painting, sculpture, and glasswork.
Art Nouveau was a reaction against the prevailing academic art of the time, which was seen as sterile and formulaic. Art Nouveau artists sought to create art that was more expressive and personal, and that reflected the beauty and vitality of the natural world.
